Loading audio files
Load the CD you want to convert to your computer’s CD. It must be recognized automatically. Then select the ‘Play audio’ option. If Windows Media Player is set as the default Media Player, it starts automatically and starts playing the CD. If you select a media player, select Windows Media Player.
Rip audio files to MP3 format
In Windows Media Player, click the ‘Rip’ tab at the top of the screen, and all the files on the CD will appear in the panel and the name of the CD will appear at the top of the panel. Go back to the ‘Rip’ tab and right-click on it and mouse over ‘format’ and ‘mp3’. Before closing the dialog, select ‘more options’ and note the location where the ripped files are saved on your computer. It is by default ‘c: / My documents / My music. ‘If you want to create a new folder for the files, this is the place to do it.
Now when you go back to the Rip tab at the top of the player screen and click on it, you will have the option to initiate the conversion process and save your audio CD files as .mp3’s. Converting audio CD (.wav) files to .mp3 files is easy. Anyone with a computer and a Windows operating system can quickly do the conversion with Windows Media Player (Windows Media Player.) You can also configure the player so that it will convert .wav files to .mp3 s whenever you need it.
