How to make Hip Hop Beats with a free music program

By | April 12, 2021

1.

Download and install the demo version of Fruity Loops from the FL Studio website. The demo version does not have all the features of Fruity Loops full version, but you can still do full length shots.

2.

Click the ‘packs’ button in the sample browser. Scroll down to the ‘hip hop’ section. Select one of the percussion to lay down the drum pattern. The drum pattern is often the first part that is created in time, but it does not have to be.

3.

Open the ‘plug-in presets’ section. Scroll down to the ‘citrus’ section to find strings, pianos, bells and pads to add tempo. Make sure you add a bass that follows the drum pattern to give it flare. Most hip hop beats have bold baselines.

4.

Send the music samples to the sample reader by right-clicking on them. Press ‘Send to selected channel.’ Check the sampler to make sure the samples were properly charged. Add music effects to the sample by linking the music mixer to the sample reader.

5.

Click on ‘Insert’ on the music mixer. Scroll down to ‘link selected channel.’ This will link the mixer to the sample reader.

Hip-hop has become one of the leading music genres in the world. The tangible influence of hip-hop on global culture makes it increasingly mobile. With the increase in available music program demonstrations such as Fruity Loops, more and more people have access to music production. The features of the music mixer and Fruity Loops scratcher make them ideal platforms for creating hip hop beats.
