The 80’s was a fun decade marked by big hair, shoulder pads, colorful fashion, surplus and music that spanned many genres. Punk, new wave, pop, rock and roll and even disco seemed to work together to create memorable songs. There are many fantastic dance songs from the 80’s, and people have different favorites from the period. But there are some songs that are often considered classic 80s dance music.

Michael Jackson s Thriller

The album ‘Thriller’ by Michael Jackson has sold more than 30 million copies, according to an article on Time.com. Many songs from Thriller have become classic 80s songs, including ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Beat It’, ‘Thriller’ and ‘PYT (Pretty Young Thing).’

The video for these songs has helped make them even more memorable. When the video for ‘Billie Jean’ came out, many people tried to emulate Jackson’s dance style. The video for ‘Thriller’ is still considered one of the best videos of all time.

Madonna

Madonna exploded on the music scene in the early 80’s and had many hits during the decade that have become classic dance songs. More 80’s songs

Other artists had several hits in the 80’s, and some of these have since become dance classics.
