WAV files are often quite large in size because they contain high quality, uncompressed audio. Because WAV files are so large, shrinking is a great way to save space on your computer. You can shrink WAV files by converting them to a less compressed audio format, such as MP3. Although you will reduce the audio quality of WAV files during the process, you will save a large amount of space on your computer. A typical MP3 is one tenth the size of a full quality WAV file.
